Welcome!

Lingco is excited to be hosting the National Latin Exam for 2024! We’ve created a modern online educational platform designed to help instructors more effectively teach students foreign languages. We’re doing everything we can to make the exam this year as smooth as possible, and we’ve created this guide to help get you started.

Technical requirements

Lingco is a modern web-based application that works best with the latest version of Google Chrome, running on a laptop or desktop computer (either Mac, PC or Chromebook).  It should also work on the last two versions of Safari, Firefox, and Microsoft Edge, but Chrome is highly recommended.  The activities used in the National Latin Exam are designed for larger screens, so we don’t support using any mobile device or tablet at this time.

In order to take the National Latin Exam on Lingco you’ll also need:

Registering for the National Latin Exam

You should’ve received a link from the NLE exam administrators that will allow you to create a Lingco account (or log in to your existing Lingco account), then register for the NLE.

After clicking on Start Registration, you’ll be prompted to input instructor information, school information and exam order information - including exam format (online or paper). When finished, click on Place Order.

Accessing the National Latin Exam material

After registering for the National Latin Exam, you’ll now have access to a special NLE dashboard, as well as the 2024 Exam courses.  Once you’ve logged in, you can see these by clicking the “National Latin Exam” button on the left sidebar in Lingco. Your exam dashboard will have direct links to all your National Latin Exam courses:

Invite students to your courses

First, you’ll need to invite your students to your course(s). Start by clicking on a course name from the NLE dashboard (see the screenshot above). This will take you to that specific course page. From there, you’ll need to click the “Roster” link on the right sidebar:
